Abstract
|

|
Of three different procedures available for the definitive surgical treatment of aganglio-nosis, Soave´s operation has many advantages over the others, i.e., absence of pelvic dissec-tion, presence of normal propulsive colon down to anus, preservation of sensory receptors and all sphincters, and few post-operative problems. Boley´s modification of Soave´s operation, endorectal pull-through with primary anastomosis, has made the procedure simpler and the admission period shorter than original one.
For a period of five years from February 1978 through March 1983, seven male children with Hirschsprung´s disease underwent Boley modification of Soave´s operation with either excellent or good results.
